DR. JONATHAN DRAKE

Jonathan Drake has always felt at home in the world of classical education – though he did not always know it. He graduated from Bucknell University (B.A. in Philosophy and Economics), and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. He initially moved to Omaha with his family in 2018 to work at Creighton University, teaching classes and publishing scholarship in philosophy.

Dr. Drake became aware of Trinity Classical Academy when he landed in the same church small group as Sara Breetzke (founding Head of School). It did not take long for him to see the significant overlap between his work as a philosopher and the work of classical education. He began teaching math at TCA in 2020. After a dozen years in academia, he left his position as an Assistant Professor at Creighton to join the TCA administration as Upper School Director. After serving in that position for two years, he became Head of School in 2026.

Jonathan is animated by a love for God, a love for people, and a love for learning – and a strong desire to see those loves grown in others. He is grateful to use his academic training and gifting as a leader to serve families and students as they pursue the true, the good, and the beautiful.
